The Front Steps Project - Oak Hill
Making connections
I was looking for a way to help neighbors stay connected while we had to physically distance ourselves during COVID-19. I stumbled across two photographers, Cara Soulia and Greg Ng who were taking action with something called "The Front Steps Project."
Although I usually focus on nature photography, I joined this movement to do my part in my area. While we all stayed home, I was able to capture over 40 families while raising money for much needed resources at Britepaths. Wow!
What was involved?
Each visit took about 5 minutes and I stayed at least 10 feet away so we interacted safely. After the session, I emailed each family their picture. In exchange, I asked for a donation of $25 or what the family could spare to support Britepaths to help local families get through this crisis. I have posted the pictures on my Instagram using the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject and #thefrontstepsprojectoakhill. And, many families have shared these images with their families and friends.
The pictures on this page are just a few of the ones I took.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
